Osmo TopOil is a microporous hardwax oil wood finish designed for worktops. It is an extremely hardwearing, durable finish which repels water, cola, tea, coffee, juice, beer and wine. Instead of soaking into the timber, all of these liquid spills will form a liquid bead on top of the surface which can simply be wiped away with a cloth.

Technical Information

Osmo Worktop Oil has excellent coverage of 24m2 per litre in one coat. Osmo recommend two coats, the first applied thinly with a natural bristle brush and the second with a lint free cloth or pad. Drying time is 8 to 10 hours with application temperature of +5 to 35 °C

Advantages of Osmo Worktop Oil

Osmo Top Oil is food safe (EN 1186) and safe for use on children’s toys (EN 713). It is resistant to water, chemicals, saliva and sweat as well as being microporous which means that the surface will not crack, flake, peel or blister. There is no need to sand the worktop before oiling with future applications.

Worktop Oil Tips

For additional protection, particularly on areas prone to moisture, then first prime with Osmo Wood Protector. Osmo TopOil 3068 natural is designed to keep the worktop’s natural light appearance as a stand alone finish without using Osmo Wood Protector, which is likely to darken the timber.

When looking to add a colour stain to a kitchen worktop then choose one of the Osmo Polyx Oil Tints and then add Osmo TopOil 3058 or 3028 for the final top coat. Always use Osmo care products for cleaning, never use washing up liquid or other household cleaners that will strip the oil from the worktop.
