It is recommended to use one coat of ‘Polyx Oil Tint’ and one top coat of ‘Polyx Oil Clear‘ for protection. However, for a richer colour, you can use use two coats of Osmo Polyx Oil Tint. Although please bear in mind the wood won’t be as well protected, so we don’t recommend this for wood flooring. Please also note that with Polyx Oil Tints White (3040), two coats may result in some white pigment being held back in the wood grain.
When using Osmo Polyx Oil tints on exotic hardwoods, use Osmo Polyx Oil Extra Thin instead of The Original Osmo Polyx Oil.
For wood flooring, apply one coat only followed by a single top coat of ‘Polyx Oil Clear‘ approximately 24 hours after the first colour stain coat. The recommended application amount is 30ml per square metre.
Osmo Polyx Oil Tints is resistant to common liquid spills such as water, tea, coffee, cola, juice and wine etc. For kitchens and bathrooms use a primer coat of ‘Osmo Wood Protector’ to give extra repellency against water.
