What Are Wood Floor Trims?

Trims are an essential part of a flooring installation and their purpose is two-fold. Firstly, they are a decorative piece designed to neaten edges where the flooring meets obstructions be it, walls fireplaces hearthstones or doorways. The second purpose of Wood Floor Trims is to hide expansion gaps. Without expansion gaps, Wood Flooring cannot freely expand as it naturally needs to with changing Moisture / Humidity levels. You can read more about our Flooring Trims in our guide here.

What is Scotia Trim?

Scotia is a type of perimeter trim. It fixes to the skirting board and provides a subtle and neat finish to flooring installations. It's a very discreet fixing as it's very small and is often available in a matching stain so it will blend in with your flooring.

What is a Threshold for flooring?

Flooring Thresholds are trims that join floors between doorways. They are therefore often referred to as Door Thresholds. They come in various shapes and sizes to suit every installation. For instance, a Wood to Carpet Door Threshold ramps down, allowing for the change in floor height.

What Are Wood Floor Mouldings?

Flooring Mouldings and Wood Floor Trims are two names often given to the same products. They include all the trims you would normally associate with Wood Floor installations including Door Thresholds such as T Bar, Square Edge and Stair Nosing.
